What is Rise: Women in Broadcast
Rise is the leading organisation focused on fostering gender diversity and supporting women in the broadcast and media technology sector. The organisation is headquartered in the UK and runs regional programmes across Europe, North America, India, APAC, ANZ and the Middle East, each led by volunteers already working in the industry.
Rise is not only for women: anyone working in the broadcast and media technology can join.
What Rise does
Rise runs a handful of programmes, each aimed at a different stage of someone's career:
- Mentoring Programme. An award-winning, annual mentoring programme delivered across the UK, Europe, North America, APAC and India, and ANZ. Pairs run for several months, connecting mentees with senior people already working in the industry.
- Rise Elevate Programme. A leadership development initiative built to grow the next generation of senior women leaders in broadcast and media technology.
- Rise C-Suite Programme. An intensive, residential workshop designed to help women accelerate their path to the C-suite, alongside peers from across the industry.
- Rise Academy. An outreach programme that brings broadcast engineering and technical workshops to school children aged 11 to 18, opening up the industry to the next generation early.
- Rise Awards. An annual awards show celebrating the skills and achievements of women across the industry.
Why Cuez supports Rise
A stronger industry needs more people at the table, not fewer. That is the simple reason Cuez backs Rise.
It is not abstract for us either. Two people on the Cuez team went through the Rise mentoring programme themselves. One of them, Kate, looks back on it with fond memories:
