Cuez Blockz

Your Broadcast Automation

Building Blocks.

Access the Cuez Automator from any MOS-based NRCS.

What is Blockz?

Blockz is a cloud-based repository for all your cue blocks. This allows you to build something once, and repeat it over and over again.

So instead of building your video block inside a rundown, and then rebuilding it in the next one, and again and again: you build it once. In Blockz. And reuse it everywhere.

Yes: every block you create in Blockz is available across:

You read that correctly: build or change something in Blockz once, and deploy it anywhere.

The problem we solved

You don't have to keep on rebuilding the same cue blocks that run your show. You also don't have to chase down 12 rundowns if that same cue block needs some changes. Create it once, deploy it everywhere.

why Blockz?

01

Manage your organisation in one place

From user management to automation blocks in different repositories per station and different MAM-systems: Blockz is at the core of it.

02

Deploy across all stations

This media house management platform connects every station, regardless of which MOS-based NRCS they rely on such as iNews and ENPS. Blockz ties our Cuez Automator to them.

03

A simplified interface for non-tech users

We don't bother non-technical people with the hassle of studio automation. We provide one simplified interface with the necessary building block options, and Automator executes.

What Blockz + Mos Connector + Automator changes in ENPS

The Cuez MOS-Connector is a plugin that connects Cuez Automator to any MOS-based NRCS, including ENPS and iNEWS.

Combined with Blockz, this is what changes:

Inside ENPS, when journalists build their rundown, they can now open the Blockz panel directly as a plugin. From that panel, they can select any block, such as video, graphic, lower-third, or another action, and fill it in just like they would inside Cuez Rundown

This is how it works:

Adding a clip

Select a clip from any MAM, PAM, or edit system.

Adding sound

Choose the sound: VO or SOT.

Anything to say?

Choose whether to play back with VO: TRUE or FALSE.

Done!

The block then inserts directly into the ENPS rundown as a structured MOS object. Not a blank container. A fully coded instruction that the connected Automator knows how to execute.

Live sync

Need to make changes to the block? Do it once in Blockz, and it will be deployed instantly to everywhere it has been used.

What this means in practice

BEFORE BLOCKZ + AUTOMATOR
  • MOS objects had no structure
  • Journalists had no guidance
  • Engineers manually coded every variation
  • No shared standard between shows
AFTER BLOCKZ + AUTOMATOR
  • Every block is pre-defined and consistent
  • Journalists can self-serve with pre-approved options
  • Works with Cuez, ENPS or iNEws etc.

Jan de Wever
Product Owner

"Blockz is our plugin of plugins for every NRCS out there. This allows our customers for some unique setups. Whether you are a single newsrooms, or a media group with 300 newsroom across the country, Blockz is compatible with all of different NRCSs. Just indicate in the admin panel how and where this plugin should operate, and this can be deployed anywhere you want. We know that users tend to switch stations, graphic engines and playout devices tend to change, but Blockz is the constant."
