De Dag Van Vantaag

Cuez for Daily News on Television

Disclaimer: TinkerList is the former name of what is now known as Cuez.

De Dag Van Vandaag is a daily quiz show built entirely around current events. Every episode is based on the news of the day, with questions drawn from headlines, facts, and stories viewers may have seen in the papers or online. That daily focus makes the show fast-paced, unpredictable, and demanding for the team behind the scenes.

“There is always a bit of tension before we start, but it is healthy stress. You know the show depends on what happened today,” says Eline, one of the editors.

Editorial Work That Never Stands Still

As an editor, Eline is responsible for shaping the quiz from start to finish. She searches the news, writes questions, prepares media, and manages the autocue during recordings. The autocue plays a key role in guiding the presenter through the show, especially during transitions between rounds.

Because money totals and answers can change during the show, being able to edit scripts live is essential.

“Before, we were constantly getting new versions by email or on paper. Now we have one document for both editorial and direction, and I always know I am looking at the right version.”

“I scroll along with what the presenter is reading. If something changes or there is a mistake, I can quickly adjust the text, and it updates immediately.”

Paperless Production with Cuez

The team highlights how moving away from paper has improved their workflow. Scripts, notes, and updates are all handled online, making it easier to collaborate and track changes.

“It is much easier when everything is online. You do not lose things like you do with paper, and you can always go back and see how something changed,” Eline says.

That visibility saves time and reduces confusion during a production that changes every day.

Flexibility Until the Final Moment

De Dag Van Vandaag airs from Monday to Thursday, with recorded rounds followed by a live finale. Because the content depends entirely on the day’s news, preparation is limited, and flexibility is crucial.

For the team, having live updates, one shared script, and a paperless workflow helps keep the focus on the show itself rather than on logistics.

As one team member sums it up, “It is just a relief. You are always working from the right information.”
