Worship Production: Kristen Media Norge
Cuez for Worship Production at Kristen Media
Kristen Media Norge works in a distinctive part of the broadcasting landscape: religious and Christian television in Norway. With both a nonprofit association and a commercial production company under one umbrella, the team produces everything from daily news to talk shows across multiple studios and remote locations. To support this growing output, they needed a workflow that matched their vision for a modern, anchor-driven newsroom.
We spoke to Bjarte Ystebø, the Managing Director at Kristen Media, to find out how Cuez helped them manage their production at a whole new level.
Before Cuez: Chaos in Production
Before adopting Cuez, the team relied on a patchwork of open-source systems custom-built by their technical crew. While flexible, the setup was complex and prone to inefficiencies. They explain, “We had a system where we had built different kinds of open source software options and built something ourselves… We found that Cuez could unify all of that in one key product.”
They also had a clear editorial goal: “Our idea was to create a news program where the anchor runs the actual flow of the production.” But their previous tools weren’t built for this level of autonomy, and coordinating multiple people and systems slowed things down.
The team needed one environment: simple, stable, and accessible from anywhere.
“The technical setup was relatively easy and the team at Cuez was always eager to help us out.”

Transitioning to Cuez
When they discovered Cuez, it immediately aligned with their needs. As they put it, “We were looking for software that could do exactly what Cuez does.” After testing it, they found that the anchor-driven workflow they envisioned was not only possible, but smooth: “We tested it, and it worked.”
From there, Cuez quickly became part of their core production stack. The switch didn’t just simplify tool management—it also reduced the strain on their crew. “We simplified our production and made it more stable and reliable because there are fewer moving parts within Cuez.”
The onboarding process was equally positive, and whenever they needed support, the Cuez team was close by:
“It has been easy from the get-go to onboard our staff and whenever we’ve needed help, the Cuez support team was there to assist us, and that made this work for us.”

The Anchor-Run Newsroom Becomes Reality
With Cuez in place, Kristin Media Norge built the newsroom they imagined. “Now we have a daily news show created by the anchor and the journalists out in the field, and they all work with Cuez.”
When it’s time to record, everything is ready—scripts, graphics, playback, cues—no extra coordination needed. “When the time comes to record, everything is there. And the anchor does it him or herself.”
The entire broadcast can now run on a single keystroke.
Cloud Collaboration Without the Chaos
The team now easily works across regions. “We have a journalist in the Middle East. We have one in Oslo, one in Bergen. They’re all working towards the cloud.”
Every contributor builds their portion of the show inside the same shared rundown, eliminating messy handovers or timing confusion.
This freedom to collaborate independently became one of their strongest advantages:
“The most unique feature of Cuez for us is our ability to work from anywhere without any coordination or without having to get together.”
Automation That Puts People First
Using the Cuez Automator, Kristen Media Norge integrated OBS, CasparCG, ATEM switchers, X32 audio mixers, DMX lighting, and vMix into their production. Everything from muting microphones to triggering graphics happens automatically, the moment it’s needed. That allowed for a leaner, calmer workflow:
“It lets us do more with fewer people, fewer mistakes, less risk in production and a more peaceful control room.”
This automation also allowed them to expand Cuez into other productions, including their weekly live talk show and additional recorded programs.
Building the Future of Worship Broadcast
Kristen Media Norge’s shift to Cuez didn’t just replace a tool. It reshaped their entire operational model. As they reflect on how television has evolved, the change feels inevitable:
“If you were to walk into a news studio 30 years ago, you would see a lot of people involved doing the things that very few people can do today.”
Their philosophy moving forward is clear:
“This is the future. We need to work smarter. We need to work better, and we need to have the tools that help us do that.”
